Tomorrow, the annual AGL Pride Cup will take place between the Sale City and Heyfield football netball clubs, adding a fresh meaning to the phrase “Playing for pride.”
This year the event is hosted by Sale City, with the day dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity in local community sports.
At the Official Launch of the 2023 AGL Pride Cup, AGL General Manager Christo van Niekerk and NGFNL President David Kyle were joined by Megan Kelly and Nick Dinsdale from Heyfield FNC, along with Tom Bowman and Elle Baker Horan.
The AGL Pride Cup originated in 2016 and has now become a recurring event in the North Gippsland Football Netball League schedule. The clubs openly display their backing for the LGBTIQA+ community through their involvement in this initiative.
